Newport on Levee/Louisville hotel group seeking state incentives to build full-service hotel

Newport on the Levee and a hotel group from Louisville are seeking state incentives to build a six-story, full-service hotel on the parking lot to its east as part of a mixed-use development.

Musselman Hotels is applying for state financial incentives to build a $33 million, 150-room hotel, which is part of the larger mixed-use development.The Levee hopes for luxury apartments, a hotel, meeting space, retail and a parking structure at the site.

A hotel has been always a part of the long-term plan for the Levee, though not necessarily at the parking lot site, said spokesman Patrick Crowley, principal, Strategic Advisers LLC.
